Dear Students.
Mediserv Cytology Training School has been a passion of founder Jasmin Hanley, ever since she was trained in Cytology many years ago. Her love for Cytology has not dwindled, having undertaken several training courses and continually attending international meetings and symposia over the years.
Mission Statement
To contribute to the reduction of Cervical Cancer by training professionals in the art of cytotechnology, to then apply this art to an accurate, reliable science of interpreting normal from abnormal cellular pathologies.
The discipline has had a colourful history, from the time of Papanicolaou observing cellular changes in laboratory animals, to the most recent research in HPV types being associated with the majority of cervical cancers.
This school is intended to instruct students in all related matters of cervical cancer – from the screening programmes that were successfully run in the last century, to the actual cellular diagnosis of the cervical or Pap smear, whether it be conventional or liquid based.
